According to the manufacturer, Galderma Laboratories, L.P.,Tri-Luma® Cream is prescribed frequently by dermatologists for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face. Melasma is a tan or dark skin-discoloration, particularly common in pregnant women, thought to be caused by the stimulation of melanocytes by estrogen and progesterone.
